Well my character's dad is black with Liam Neeson's voice explain that one.
Well my character's dad is black with Liam Neeson's voice explain that one.
creepiest moment in any video game I've ever played
Same.
For me the creepiest moment was when I was going through this nuclear bunker(you end up there if you go to the fort mentioned when getting the keys for the You Gotta Shoot Em In The Head quest) and going down the stairs and shit and the music made it all suspenseful. Then I heard a Mr. Gutsy say something and shoot me with a flamethrower and I almost shit my pants.
Well I guess I just don't notice it then.
Lucky me.
Who talks to guards anyways
People who feel they need to speak to every npc in the game to have completed it on the offchance they might have missed a quest from an npc they never spoke to.
Or when you walk by them and they say something
So what is everyone's favorite fighting style so far? Big guns, small guns, unarmed, or melee? So far unarmed rocks. I cripple everyone in punch or two...plus I get the rocky theme song in my head every time I VATS someone, fisticuff style.
I've gone for small guns so far, but I like using the occasional big gun.
I just don't know where to put my points lol, I'm sure all the options are fun. Haven't really got any in unarmed though. That sounded a bit too dangerous for me.
I normally tend to snipe from afar with Ol' Painless or Lincoln's Repeater, but every now and again, when I feel I'm getting my ass handed to me by a particularly well armored enemy, I'll whip out mah missile launcher and give them a whats for. As with most people, I'll get gutsy now and again and use my shotty close range.
I tagged small guns, sneak, and lockpick. I max'd sneak and have 90+ small arms, so I'm using a sniper rifle outside, or sneaking up to VATS with a Chinese Assault Rifle headcrit (Commando perk.) Anyone who survives gets combat shotgunned. I'm gonna go grab the unique CAR, unique Plasma Rifle, and Ranger Armor before I resume the main quest, though.
For random encounters in the Wasteland I'll Shishkebob a nigga.
Whenever possible, though, I much prefer to pants people.
Is it me or does small arms sound like it has the most boring sounding gun names.
Chinese assult rifle is the most exciting small arms I've heard, but others have ol' painless?
Tell me there are some cool small arms please.
Small Arms is the best early in the game, energy is the best late in the game. Fortunately, if you aren't retarded with your SPECIAL, perks, and skills, there is plenty of time to max them both, along with lockpick, sneak, science, and repair. The rest of the skills suck.
Heh, looks like our timeline is a bit ahead of fallouts.
I saw this and fallout was my instant thought lol.
Figured you guys would get a kick too.

Those are the exact ones I went for, so I'm gonna back you up on that. Although I also put a few points on speech because it comes in handy with some of the more whiney characters.
Anyone wanting to avoid learning about some of the unique weapons should probably stop reading now. I'd put it in a spoiler, but it's such a small thing. Shitface, Ol' Painless is probably my favourite small arm, although you'll also find the Xuanlong Assault Rifle, the Victory Rifle, Lincoln's Repeater and various others if you look around a little bit. Most are just the same model as their non-unique counterpart, but with improved stats.
Oh thats a bit of a let down.
I was expecting some awesome looking guns, not the same ones with better stats.
Unique Chinese Assault Rifle and others
I have been listening to Enclave Radio because every once in a while they play Dixie
My first runthrough was good/small arms/sneak/lockpick/science/repair.
My second (current) runthrough is evil/unarmed/big guns/repair.
I cleaned out Megaton before I set the nuke off. Everyone gets a ride on the Fisto! train. If I don't sell them to the slavers first. Anyone have any idea what the slaver who runs the shop will give you if you help him with his rifle problem?
On topic somewhat...
just dropping by the thread to say that this game has me.
Words cannot describe.
Dear god i <3 Fallout 3 with a passion. Some people think that its too hard, and it tends to glitch out sometimes. I had someone over to play it and in the very beginning the door woulden't open so the dad could give you the bible lesson after choosing your stats. To be honest thats what she gets for naming her character Pete...
My main guy is a Charm/Small Guns user who is a kleptomaniac saint <,<
I fucking loved A3-21's Plasma Rifle. Not only will it save ammo by taking almost anything out in three hits or less, but by the endgame you will be finding so much ammunition with it you won't know what to do with it all. I had 60 shots with it, by the time I got to the last story-related mission I had over 300.
I'm pretty sure if I used a stimpack every time I had two health missing and used guns against every enemy I would still have more health and ammo available to me than I would ever need.
You have to be legitimately bad at video games to think Fallout 3 is at all difficult. I'm assuming if those are major concerns for this person, he didn't try the game on max difficulty, nor did he continue it long enough that the level cap had an effect.
My now favorite thing in the game so far is let the ghouls into tenpenny tower and let them kill everyone and then go in and loot everything, 70 stim packs and a whole mess of caps later I am ready for anything.
Yeah, endgame sucks, even without an optimized character. I've optimized a lot more on this second walkthrough, and its pretty cake, even as melee-only for the first 10 levels. The game has been ridiculously easy thus far (and this is without the dart gun).
I'm hunting for the 3 rock-it launcher schematics so the fist will be a thing of the past though (except for sneaky mr. sandman critty goodness because it makes me laugh).
<--- guess what video game I bought yesterday
For many games, especially RPGs, I agree. However... I'm not having a really easy time with Fallout 3 in normal mode...
Maybe it's because my spec sucks since I to thinly distributed my S.P.E.C.I.A.L. points and skill points way too thinly rather than specializing in a couple particular skills?
