    Well, voice acting aside (which I still don't think is nearly as bad as you're making it out to be), I'm not sure how you can complain about a generic plot. I mean, yes, it is rather conventional, but then again what RPG video game in a fantasy setting doesn't have a generic plot? Yeah, Oblivion was so incredibly unique with its demons threatening to destroy the world. And I suppose they invented elves and mages too, right?

    On the other hand, I think that the universe does have some rather unique aspects. For one thing, religion is truly a matter of faith in Thedras, as there is really no direct interaction of the divine in the worlds of mortals or spirits. I also can appreciate the rather complex relations between the Circle of Mages and the Templars. In fantasy games, you're inevitably going to find a ton of convention in both the plot and the universe; the novelty has to be found in variations upon these conventions.
